This door is from the front of Leixlip Castle. The chair by the door is 18th-century Irish Chippendale, one of the set purchased from the Malahide Castle sale in 1976.
Both front doors enter into the Front Hall at Leixlip Castle. This door opens from the side of the castle.
To the right in this photo is the entry to the Tower.
The stairs lead up into the tower.
Antlers, from Germany, were in Powerscourt House, County Wicklow. The photo is taken from the tower doorway. The doorway to the front of the castle is to the left. Straight ahead is the dining room.

The doll’s house in the front hall, believed to have originated in Cork, is used to sort mail. (I know, the photos are blurry… my camera batteries were going and I missed SO many photos I wanted!)
