We’ve been coming to Hudson’s since we’ve been coming to Hilton Head.
It doesn’t look like much from outside, but the food is delicious. It is just normal good seafood and Lowcountry favorites. There are a few other options on the menu, for those (like my husband) who just don’t like fish.
The view is lovely. The windows look out over Port Royal Sound.
Hudsons still has their own fishing boats. The fish comes straight to the restaurant docks. You can actually see the crew unloading oysters, shrimp or crabs.
They always have the regular fish on the menu. And seasonal fish like swordfish, mahi mahi, grouper, tile fish, trigger fish, vermilion snapper, and black sea bass.
They actually have a soft shell crab shedding operation right behind the restaurant. They have built a water circulating system for the crabs to live in until they molt. Then, as soon as the crabs shed, they go straight over to the restaurant.
The staff has always been friendly and the food is always good.
Hudson’s does not take reservations and sometimes there can be quite a line. There are tables outside and at the bar. I am told they have a different menu. I don’t know.
We always get there as soon as they open so we can get a table by the windows to watch the sunset in comfortable air-conditioning.

There was more…
This was in addition to another meal. I’m not big on photos of food.
