If I understand the question, you want to know how long it takes to make money from Amazon Associates ads.
How long does it take from when someone clicks an Amazon ad on my site until I get paid if they buy something?
When someone clicks your link, puts the item in their shopping cart and checks out, you earn commission. The sale will show up right away on the Reports pages (Log in, then affiliate-program.amazon.com/home/reports) in Ordered Items. The sale shows up in Earnings once it ships. The total shows up in your Payment History (affiliate-program.amazon.com/home/account/payment/history) at the end of the month. Then you are paid in 60 days, as long as you have earned enough, $100 when I did it. If you earn less, you can still apply it as a credit toward things you are buying on Amazon.
So purchase to money is at least two months. Sales I made in January are paid in late March.
What about if the visitor that clicked my Amazon ad doesn’t buy anything right away?
If someone clicks one of your links, if they check out through Amazon within the next 24 hours, you get a commission. No matter what they buy.
You earn commission income on any qualifying items placed in a customer’s Shopping Cart within 24 hours of their arrival at Amazon.com via your Associates link.
That is unless they click through someone else’s ad in the mean time.
This 24-hour window closes once the customer submits his order or reenters Amazon.com through another Associate’s link.
What if they put it in their Shopping Cart, but check out later?
If someone clicks one of your Amazon ad links and puts something in their cart within 24 hours, even if they don’t check out until later, you still get the commission.
As long as the item was added to the customer’s Shopping Cart during this 24-hour window, you will still earn a referral commission if the order is placed before the Shopping Cart expires (usually after 90 days).
